It's A Crazy Old World

I'm kinda sat here thinking I cannot believe it's been 5 whole months since I relaunched Vanilla Part Two "the new era" and I haven't written a new blog edit! #naughtyme

There's many reasons why - which I promise not to bore you with! But the main reason being I wanted to settle, find my flow, get my groove on! With lockdown and all the shenanigans time has kinda passed me by.

Whilst seeing my Osteopath this week, it enlightened me to start writing again! And to re start Yoga!

As you girls know style is my passion, making women feel great & to try out new things, push those style boundaries (if you wanna be pushed that is! :) ) Trends and style have changed immensely since last March, things have moved, the goal posts changed and fashion has been turned upside down.

Here's my take!

Since lockdown all the things we took for granted, holidays, hugging family & friends, sipping gin with the girls, festivals, music events, weddings, travelling, meeting new people & going to the gym - all this stopped.

Confined to smaller spaces, little or no contact with others, being left unable to socialise we have found solace in comfy style, clothes that feel good, great quality, stylish outfits that almost feel like a hug! Can you remember that feeling when you used to get home and couldn't wait to get those darn skinny jeans off!!!

Step in loungewear, fun and frivolous dresses, chunky knits, extra slippers, OTT socks, rainbow coloured knitted vests, print on print, dreamy big collars, leopard print take over, colourful logo sweats and jim jams - who can forget jim jams! I've never worn jammies BUT I do now! Girls, it's all about feeling good in #whatyouwear embracing what we have, celebrating our own individual style. This is the biggest change in the fashion industry - Be you!

Style has no age limit, be confident, be unique, feel great.

Here's my top 7 style must have's for SS/21

. The satin midi skirt, worn layered with spring knits, come summer with tee's.

. The Shacket, hello our outdoor friend! Wear as a jacket, shirt or dress the options are endless.

. The printed prairie dress, wether you're a monochrome gal or leopard print lover there's a summer essential for you. Floaty, delicate and super fun! Just add chunky boots now then sliders in the warmer months.

. Cornflower blue, from big collars to knitwear this is the colour to don this season

. Indoor quilting (as mentioned earlier) its about comfort, those layers, Scandinavian cool! Pair quilting with the unexpected, pretty blouses or joggers you decide!

. The square neckline dress, relaxed, cool, comfy and uber stylish. Great to layer too in chiller spring months.

. Big collars, kinda like marmite really! But girls they are staying! Throughout A/W21 the collar love continues. Embracing the big collar is liberating #trustme

Stay tuned Vanilla family for more blog edits on my Summer top 7 : how to style em out & what to wear them with.

Bye for now

Lou xx
